I recommend you get an SNES just to play Chrono Trigger. Yes, it's that good. I would say get an emulator but you need to experience it in all its glory on a TV (although I'm aware you can connect your computer to a television).

GTA4 is subpar even in the world of videogames! Granted, I really liked the game itself for other reasons such as the revamped gameplay system, but come on... the script seems like it was written by a 6th grader and the voice acting performed by his most immature classmates (with instructions to sound as stereotypical as possible).
I want to shoot myself everytime I hear Manny rep "the Streets" or some Italian gangbanger speak in 90% profanity. Really, GTA4 is in ...
automatic bubble for giving Suikoden 1 props. As much as I echo Obama's sentiments with regards to Suikoden 2 and 5, I feel like too many fans started with 2 so they never got to experience 1 when it first came out. If they did, you'd probably hear a lot more calls for 1 as the best of the series.
Bubble to you too Obama even though you didn't rep 1. Still, 2 is one of my favorite games of all time (if you can't tell by my username/pic).
This made me lol. When they say "critics", do they mean 6th graders?
I'd like a new Suikoden that looks like 1, 2 or 5.
they have Falcon sideline players wearing FREE VICK shirts! That'd be awesome.
Dragon Force
The whole family-first, girls are innocent and naive and have to be protected faction.
The whole mandatory minimums with respect to statutory rape is ridiculous in my mind (especially with the bar set so high compared to the rest of the civilized world - France, Germany, Spain, Sweeden, United Kingdom, etc. - basically everywhere). Sure, there should be some penalties in extreme cases where predation is actually proven but in most cases there should definetely be a measure of ...
but you never thought about (or did) hook up with 17 year old girls (not because they were 17, just because they were hot) when you were in your late teens/early 20s? If you ask me, the problem with the whole pedophile thing is the conservative/holier-than-thou nature of the US. The rest of the civilized world has reasonable limits set for "statutory rape". Even the UK which is pretty conservative has it at 16.
I disagree because there are some genres (like RPGs) that are more endearing and don't necessarily become irrelevant because the gameplay system does not evolve as much as say action/adventure, sports, FPS or fighting games (and also graphics aren't as important).
I'm a big fan of the Persona series. I put Persona 4 up there (I actually meant to put Persona 3 but both would be good). How's DDS1 and 2? I meant to buy them but never got around to doing it.
I'd also recommend Suikoden 5 over both 3 (no offense lucretio) and 4 (I was a big fan of 1 and 2) if you have some cash to blow as well.
I am impressed with the demo for this game despite the fact I have thought the next-gen versions of NCAA and Madden have been subpar up to now (to their credit, they have been getting better). Maybe this is finally the year "next-gen" gameplay/responsiveness can match "last-gen's".
that you probably would not want to date the girls you meet on WoW.

but how did you ever live in the days before online gaming? Can't you just appreciate a great single-player experience for what it is(assuming the game lives up to all the hype)?
because online can always be added through a patch.
My only fear is that Gamespot and 1up.com will automatically dock a full point off their Naruto scores because it doesn't have online (no matter how great the single-player is)...it's a shame.
just for mentioning Dragon Ball Z Legends
that the next-gen Maddens have gotten better with each new iteration, but they still aren't on par with the last-gen versions yet. The creator themselves said this last year! As I pointed out in my first post, there are still some glaring problems with the game that are not present on the PS2/XBOX.
Wow, that's crazy. To me, that's kind of like if Metal Gear Solid was never released in the US. Anyway, you owe it to yourself to play this game!
On another note, I was pretty psyched when this username was actually available on n4g. I love that game (as you probably figured out from the Suikoden thread we posted on yesterday)!
